"The EP is the follow up to the nearly sold out debut 7" "Honest / I Wish," which has earned a great deal of praise from guitar pop fans worldwide. We're happy to say this EP continues right where they left off. The four songs are filled with their classic pop goodness that will absolutely knock your socks off! Lovely Bryds-y guitar lines, jangly rhythms, and Colm's perfectly crafted vocal melodies will make this one release you do not want to miss! "
The showcase track is the superb "Sunshine Hair", which features delicate and sincere vocals and jangling guitar that will strum nostalgia chords in your brain." - When You Motor Away Blog
Recorded over Februrary and March in a freezing warehouse in Galway. The plan was to try and capture the bands poppy, melodic, harmony driven style, but keep a lot of crunch and thump on the guitars. Yeah these were carefully constructed classic girl group inspired pop tunes.. but they'll kick your ass if they have too!
Dreamy vocals, three-part harmonies and handclaps on TEFL and Love You Toomake for a sweet garage-pop album. - Irish Times
Dott write instantly hooky songs about love, both lost and found, brought to life by punchy guitars, peppy drums, and powerful lead vocals that are surrounded by lush harmonies. - musicmaker.ie
The drums are fast and fill-laden but spongy enough for the dirty guitar to bounce off of, and the subtly harmonised vocals drip into the remaining gaps like butter into a hot crumpet. - notedmusic.co.uk

LAND LOVERS - SPLIT LP
OOAL/Popical Island 2014
This recorded started life in studio in Offaly, received overdubs at various band members homes before ending up in my hands in October 2013. At the time a quick turn around was needed and I think, somehow, the final mixes benefitted from the sense of urgency!
Land Lovers are a beautiful surprise. From the very opening notes of the giddy pop rush of 'Vittima di Cucina’, this Dublin based outfit display a handy knack for knowing exactly what is required to make great pop music. - Enterainment.ie
Quality prevails throughout their seven-song set, though the chiming Close Embrace and the lovelorn, anthemic Matilda are surely the silverware contenders here. - Record Collector Magazine (yes THAT Record Collector Magazine)
With tracks such as ‘Where It Begins’ and ‘Summertime’s Gone’ highlighting Land Lover’s pin-point pop, brilliantly offset by the thrashing of noise influenced guitars and swaying soul inspired percussion. thelastmixedtape.com

WALPURGIS FAMILY - DAWN
Popical Island 2012
The first full album I produced and engineered, much panic, coffee and cigs led to a warm atmospheric story book of a record that swings from bouncing garage pop, ethereal soundscapes and stark slow waltzing folk. Key words: Belguim, Sea-side, Dinosaur, Saxaphone

SQUAREHEAD - OUT OF SEASON
Infalted Records 2013
Aahh.. The Lads! Expansive reverberating pop gives way to growling buzz-saw guitars and straight from the gut vocals. Layers and layers of guitar coated in layers of guitar with a chewy guitar centre... One of the most fun records I've done so far!
Squarehead craft melodic pop and rock songs with hand-claps and percussion beats to boot. - consequenceofsound.net
The level of craftsmanship continues all the way to the end with the jangle-jangle, sunshiiiiiine vibe of ‘Sicknote’. - wearenoise.com
Squarehead, for their part, go harder than they’ve gone ever before, their five songs bite with more distortion, energy and more raucous vocals. - Nialler 9
THE LIE INS - DEATH TO LIE INS
Popical Island 2013
Where to start.. The Lie Ins are a two piece garage/folk troupe formed by Snake Stevens and his half-cousin Ruined Van Vliet. They come from Mayo and took the Nestors coach to Heftrax to record their first album. They stayed for six months at at the end paid me in damp back issues of 2000AD comic. Once finished they made me swear I'd never listen to the album ever again or they'd cut my ears off and feed them to me. I heard a rumour it charted in Kyrgyzstan...
"A somewhat unsettling slice of noise-inflected garage rock." - AU
"People just sit around all day writing pure pop tunes on fucked amplifiers" - Thumped

THE RUN ONS - NEIL FORGETS/HOME
Popical Island 2014
Is there anything harder then recording your own band? Just ask Butch Vig.. and me.. Runs Ons are true blue dyed in the wool indie rockers of the Big Muff loving variety. Big guitars. Big Fuzz. Big Chorus. Big Tunes.
"The Run Ons chuck in a squalling pop stomp that wouldn’t be out of place at a mid-nineties US college-rock festival"

SO COW - OUT OF SEASON
Galways finest, the tunesmiths from Tuam. I was really excited to be asked to record Brian Kelly's legendary trio, and proud to be the first person to capture the live 3 piece band in action. Tracked in a whirlwind 48 hour session, there was laughter, tears, broken bass amps and wastepaper bins for puking (not needed, thankfully). The tight schedule meant minimum overdubs, which actually ended up being A Very Good Thing and I'm really proud of the sparse but powerful sound of this release!

GROOM - ANOTHER DAY
My old, old, so old, buddies Groom and their final single... most of this was done in Soup Studios in London so it was a quick tidy and polish and maybe a guitar or two? Maybe? I've already forgotten!
A great band, I keep thinking I must have done more recording with them but I think it was more with Walpurgis and Lies Ins two bands that came from Groom.. they are missed..
